With the global concern on alternate protein in mind, Lam Tak and its sister companies MLF Ingredients Sdn Bhd & MLS Agri Sdn Bhd started the vertical expansion into insect protein. MLS Agri started their Black Soldier Fly insect farming operation in Malaysia and is aggressively forming partnerships in the region to expand the local insect protein business.
The group is spear-headed by JAMES WEE. James Wee was formerly a corporate manager in Philips Electronics and Singapore Trade Development Board (known currently as Enterprise Singapore). He has over 30 years of business leadership experience. He graduated from NUS Computer Science in 1995 and earned his MBA from INSEAD in 2001.
Lam Tak Group's motto is to contribute to a green and sustainable environment through technologies, trust and partnerships with like-minded entities.
Lam Tak was established back in 1968 by two partners to distribute wheat bran and pollard from Prima Flour Mills in Singapore and Malaysia. In 2012, Lam Tak was handed over to the 2nd generation and was restructured as a Private Limited entity. Since then, the company has developed rapidly in the food recycling business and started manufacturing & trading of dairy based feed ingredients.
Due to this rapid expansion, Lam Tak acquired 2 factories facilities (one each in Singapore and Malaysia) in 2017. Our suppliers include top-tier infant formula companies, Arla, Glanbia, Agropur/Davisco, Fonterra, etc. Some of our major customers are CP Group, Cargill, and various animal farms in the region.
